My Flowers

Three years ago I planted a bed full of assorted bulbs. Every year I wait impatiently to see what will happen. Nothing ever happens. Inevitably, the moose will come and chomp everything down before there are any blooms. This year was no exception.

The moose came.

The moose chomped.

However...

The moose came early.

The moose came so early that everything had time to regroup, reevaluate and regrow. So this year, my bulb bed is bangin.

Boo-ya.

Look at my tulips! I've never had tulips bloom before! Tulips are a particular favorite of moose. My kids think they are called "two lips"

Look! Some kind of daffodil!

Look! Purple things!

That is all that is currently in bloom but I have other things getting ready to show off. I have no clue what they are but I'm sure they'll be spectacular.

I also have a couple of hanging baskets. Hurray for Mother's Day!

This is my first year attempting fuchsias. I was under the impression that they were really hard to care for. They are not. That's my kind of basket.

I am normally a complete failure when it comes to hanging baskets. Oh, you mean you're supposed to water them? This year I'm being more diligent. My petunias appreciate it.

Jordy's Birthday Party

Yesterday we celebrated Jordan's 5th birthday with friends at the playground. We had a hotdog picnic and cake of course. Jordy was inundated with Barbies because she's starting to get into girl stuff finally. Her favorite gift though, was the pack of straws one of her friend's dad got for her. Nice.

Happy birthday Bugaroo!

Gun Battle

The best way to unwind after a long day of graduating from kindergarten?

Water gun fight with dad.

K5 Graduation

Today my Bubba graduated from Kindergarten. We attended the ceremony this morning at school and chuckled our way through the precious program. The patriotic theme was portrayed with songs, recitations and costumes. Jake was a patriot. A darn cute patriot. At then end, they donned their caps and gowns and received their diplomas. Jaycob earned a Gold Merit medal along with his diploma. This means he had excellent behavior all year. Not quite sure how he pulled that off...

After the program we went back to his classroom to clean out his stuff. Each kid had one of these framed handprints along with the little scrapbook that I had been doing with them all year.

Amerikids

This past Sunday the kids performed their kids' choir show at the evening church service. Cute performance, cute kids.

We went out for ice cream after and found a couple other Amerikids there.

Yum.

This is a short video of the kids' performance. Oh Jordan.

Test Run

For Mother's Day I was the lucky recipient of the Flip video recorder. A super nifty device that fits in the palm of your hand, records at the push of a button and flips open to reveal a USB port that plugs directly into the computer to upload the video.

I took this video and uploaded it to this blog all within a few short minutes. SUH WEET.

Be sure to pause the music down on the right hand side of this page before playing the video.

Blackhawk Down!

Today the Army brought a Blackhawk Helicopter and landed in the parking lot at Jake's school for the kids. We ran over there to check it out and Jordan and Josh had the whole thing to themselves in between class tours.

Future soldier?

Future model?

This is serious business

And some not so serious.

I watched one of the soldiers step in after Jordan and fix whatever she did in this shot.

Top Gun!

We scheduled our arrival just in time for Jake's class to come out. He was so excited before they came outside that his teacher made him walk with her. He thought he was in trouble and was sad when he saw me. But cheered up pretty quickly when we sent him off to see what he could see.

He decided to wait in a really long line just so that he could sit in the cockpit.

That's Jakey in the driver's seat.

Bustin' a move just for me.

Trying to figure out the complicated harness system.

Quite an adventure of a little dude who loves soldiers and things with guns!

Photo Season

Well, I think Spring really did hit finally. 50 degrees today! I spent the day outside in the lawn chair watching the kids ride bikes and fight. Good times.

Spring also marks the beginning of crazy photography season! Tracy and I had two photoshoots this past weekend. One was a newborn shoot with baby Liam and the other was the 2010 Mrs. Alaska pageant.

If you want to see some sneak peaks of the newborn shoot, click HERE to go to our PS Photography blog.

We have three more photoshoots in this coming week. Excited to be back behind the lens!
