Can't stop BLOGGING

I'm feeling bloggedy this evening. Probably because I've been catching up on blogs and that makes me want to blog. I don't actually have anything to say really, but I found this worthless questionaire on a friend's blog and thought you'd all enjoy suffering through it with me.

1. First thing you wash in the shower?
The shower. Seriously. The only way to clean the shower is to be IN IT, so that's when it gets done.

2. What color is your favorite hoodie?
My hubby and I have a little shirt business and I have hundreds of hoodies. Literally, HUNDREDS of hoodies. They are all in boxes in my RV. I think my favorite is the Gilden 50/50 9oz hoodie in red.

3. Would you kiss the last person you kissed again?
Yes, but I will definitely make him wipe the dinner off his face first next time.

4. Do you plan outfits?
If you consider deciding not to get dressed in real clothes ever, planning? Then yes. I plan to wear sweats every day for the rest of my life. Except on Sunday.

5. How are you feeling right now?
Peckish. What? It's a real word!

6. What’s the closest thing to you that is red?
The butt I just spanked.

7. Tell me about the last dream you remember having?
I don't remember my dreams but it probably involved fruit snacks and ninjas. And Gerard Butler. HELLEER!

8. Did you meet anybody new today?
Nope. Didn't leave the house (and wore sweats all day).

9. What are you craving right now?
See #7.

10. Do you floss?
I go through fits and starts.

11. What comes to mind when I say cabbage?
Gagging over my friend's response to this question. Sauerkraut. GOO.

12. Are you emotional?
Only when I'm TICKED.

13. Have you ever counted to 1,000?
Yes. Many times. When I was younger I had a goal to count to one million. I kept track of my counting on a chalkboard in my bedroom. Every night I counted to 2000 before falling asleep. I think I made it to about 200,000 before quitting.

14. Do you bite into your ice cream or just lick it?
If it's on a cone, I'm a licker, if it's on a spoon, I'm a biter.

15. Do you like your hair?
My hair and I have had a tumulous relationship. At this point in my life we have reached an understanding of sorts, thanks to mr. Chi.

16. Do you like yourself?
Of course. I'm good people.

17. Would you go out to eat with George W. Bush?
Absolutely! And we'd laugh, oh how we'd laugh.

18. What are you listening to right now?
My daughter talking herself to sleep. It's good stuff.

19. Are your parents strict?
I thought they were but I think I might be worse.

20. Would you go sky diving?
Heck to the NO.

21. Do you like cottage cheese?
I don't anything that tastes white.

22. Have you ever met a celebrity?
Yes. I've met Jordan and Danny from New Kids on the Block and Sarah Palin.

23. Do you rent movies often?
Not often, but I go out to a movie every Monday night, so there's not much left to rent.

24. Is there anything sparkly in the room you’re in?
I'm thinking no because I'm not distracted.

25. How many countries have you visited?
Three. Canada, Mexico and Great Britain.

26. Have you made a prank phone call?
Do people still do that? Yes. I've done it a time or two.

27. Ever been on a train?
Yes. I also experienced a train wreck in Woodinville, WA. Idiot tried to beat the train across the railroad crossing.

28. Brown or white eggs?
I have serious issues with brown eggs. Don't even go there.

29.Do you have a cell phone?
Sigh. Yes. I have a cell phone but let me just say that I JUST GOT IT a couple months ago and while it's nice to have, I frickin hate people messing with their phones when they should have all their attention focused on me and my sparkly personality. OH! See #24!

30. Do you use chap stick?
No. I subscribe to the theory that it makes you addicted, that your lips get chapped-er and it tastes like butt.

31. Do you own a gun?
Only the two connected to my shoulders. My hubby has a thing for the other version though.

32. Can you use chop sticks?
Dude. I'm a freakin ninja. Of course I can use chop sticks. I can also play chop sticks. Double threat girl.

33. Who are you going to be with tonight?
Three gorgeous guys, one hot chick and fat pack of fruit snacks.

34. Are you too forgiving?
Hubby thinks I am. I very much want people to have plenty of opportunities to show me that they actually don't suck.

35. Ever been in love?
Dude, there's this guy, named Jesus...

36. What is your best friend(s) doing tomorrow?
I have a lot of besties. I reckon most of them are tending their young, same as me.

37. Ever have cream puffs?
Yep. Not a fan. White stuff inside.

38. Last time you cried?
I cried over a book I was reading last night.

39. What was the last question you asked?
"Are you pretending you want to talk to me just so you can stay out of bed longer?" (three seconds ago) My son is a master manipulator.

40. Favorite time of the year?
Summer, but only the parts where Darrin is home and not the parts where I'm a single mom for a month.

41. Do you have any tattoos?
Yes.

42. Are you sarcastic?
Nooooooo.

43. Have you ever seen The Butterfly Effect?
Um, what?

44. Ever walked into a wall?
Ever fallen down some stairs?

45. Favorite color?
Green. Whenever I send my kids to the basement to grab me a Propel water, they always bring me the green one because it's my favorite color. I don't have the heart to tell them that it's my least favorite flavor.

46. Have you ever slapped someone?
Yes, and it felt AWESOME.

47. Is your hair curly?
Does Billy Graham have a quiet time?

48. What was the last CD you bought?
Who buys CDs? iTunes is where it's at.

49. Do looks matter?
Not as much as smell matters.

50. Could you ever forgive a cheater?
Probably. Like I said previously, I tend to give people lots of opportunities to prove to me that they don't suck.

51. Is your phone bill sky high?
No. I have found ways to make my life incredibly thrifty. You should meet me. I'm amazing.

52. Do you like your life right now?
I'm pretty much a fan. I wish my baby would stop crapping his pants 4 times a day, but I suppose it could be worse. Exactly how escapes me right now but I could probably come up with something if I had to.

53. Do you sleep with the TV on?
No, I don't watch much TV since we turned our cable off. THRIFTY.

54. Can you handle the truth?
Jesus is the way and the truth and the life! I can totally handle that.

55. Do you have good vision?
Yes, but I think I'd look pretty stinkin' adorable in glasses. Maybe not.

56. Do you hate or dislike more than 3 people?
I definitely dislike some folks. They've proven over and over that they pretty much suck.

57. How often do you talk on the phone?
Not often. Unless I'm talking to Tracy or my mom. Then I can't seem to shut up.

59. What are you wearing?
Please refer to question #4 and stop trying to make me feel bad about myself.

60.What is your favorite animal?
A horsey. A childhood love that has never died, despite all the efforts of every jerkwad in highschool who tried to make me feel bad about it. They all pretty much suck.

61. Where was your profile picture taken at?
4-wheeling trip out at Eureka.

62. Can you hula hoop?
These hips don't lie.

64. What was the most recent thing you bought?
A book(s). Some books.

65. Have you ever crawled through a window?
Totally. I can't remember why though...

Journaling

I just posted a couple of new journal entries on my Live Journal site and decided to post them here as well. For those who are not familiar, I use my livejournal as a way to record moments, quotes and slices of life, while the blog is more of a photo journey. I have my reasons for doing them in two separate places, reasons that I shall not bore you with here. Today, I'm just sharing.

The first one:

"I think your daughter might have left a blue, stuffed animal in Sunday School yesterday."

Munchkee's Sunday school teacher was standing near Hubby while they both dropped their boys off at kindergarten Monday morning.

"Uh, I'm pretty sure it's not hers. We don't really let our kids bring toys to church."

"Wow, I wish I was that strong." She replied, impressed.

Beebs looked up at her, "ALL the Powers are that strong."

The second one:

"Mom, a real heart looks kind of like a bird, not like this..." Beebs proceeded to draw a heart shape in the air with his finger.

"Yep, you're right. Weird," was my distracted reply.

"Jesus lives in my bird."

First Lost Tooth

Jordy is the first of the kids to lose a tooth.

It came as a surprise to all of us because we have been patiently waiting for Jake's first loose tooth ever since he started kindergarten. Most of the kids in his class have lost teeth and he was ready (after some serious conversations about how much it does NOT hurt).

I just happened to look over at Jordan recently and saw her pushing at her lower front teeth with her tongue. One of the bottom teeth bent completely over as she did it. A quick examination revealed that yup, Jordy had not one, but TWO loose bottom teeth and a nice big new tooth growing in behind.

And last night it finally fell out. She was biting into an orange, TRYING to make her tooth come out (unbeknownst to me) and it worked. She came running up to me shouting, "my tooth fell out! My tooth fell OUT!"

"Yay! Where is it?"
"I don't know!"

So we went hunting through the carpet. Jake found no less than three false alarms when he picked up food crumbs from dinner (and probably breakfast and lunch too).

Jordan was the one to finally find it and so we wrapped it up in a scarf and put it under her pillow. Now, normally it takes Jordan a good hour to fall asleep at night. She sings songs to Jesus a lot, she talks to herself and her blankets, she gets up to potty a dozen times. But last night I told her that she had to lay VERY STILL or the tooth would get lost and the tooth fairy wouldn't be able to find it.

She laid down carefully and was asleep within five minutes.

The tooth fairy brought her 50 cents. When I sent out the query on facebook a couple days ago about what teeth were going for these days, people were trying to convince me that I needed to give out tens of dollars.

Not happening. The child doesn't even know the value of a penny. She was more than excited to put her 50 cents into her piggy bank.

The Snow is MELTING! (but only for a minute)

Spring finally hit us here a couple of weeks ago, but then it snowed 8 more inches. This week it WAS trying again. I was a complete believer, but today it is snowing AGAIN and we already have about an inch. Before today though, we did get outside in the warm spring air and did some outside-y things...

...like riding bikes.

And crashing bikes.

And watching the snow melt puddles creep slowly down the street.

We shot some hoops.

With terrific form I might add.

We contemplated the cosmos.

And we shot more hoops.

This one totally went in by the way.

I can't say when winter will finally end (hopefully before next winter) but if the sun peeks out and th snow looks melty, we hurry outside with all the gusto of a family of crazy people with a raging case of cabin fever.

Back in Seattle, for a second.

I recently found myself in the Seattle area. My Grandma, who had been ill, passed away on April 1st. Though the circumstances were heart-wrenching, it was wonderful to be surrounded by my family, who I rarely see anymore.

I annoyed everyone by taking constant pictures so Mom gave me a taste of my own medicine.

This is Pops and my baby brother.

My brother John from Maryland. Prior to last year, I hadn't seen him in nearly 10 years. Little brother Josh also lives in Maryland now.

This my younger brother, JR.

On the ferry to Kingston for the funeral.

My oldest brother Paul and his wife met us there.

Mommy and me, looking like we'd shed a tear or two.

It was a quick trip, only four days, but I was kidless and husbandless and I didn't know what to do with myself. So I tried to do as little as possible and treated it like a vacation. I even got upgraded to first class for my flight back home. I'd never flown first class and had no idea what it was like. I still don't, because I slept straight through the whole experience.

Easter Goodness

Just some random pictures of food and things.

Catching up on Easter

I'm going to be playing catch-up on blogging for a bit so bear with me as we head back into Easter.

Easter Egg Hunting!

Tuesday, April 06, 2010

This is How We Do.

Easter egg dying in my house stresses me out. That's why, when Grandma Diana brought over the Easter egg dying stuff, I stripped everyone down to their draws and stuck them on the kitchen floor. They still managed to turn themselves colors, but at least I saved the clothes.

Easteriness

I do actually have a bunch of Easter posts to put up, but it might take me a while to get to them. I could not, however, let too much time pass before I posted these cuties.

Happy Easter!

"'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.'" - John 11:25-26

Reflecting on this verse today.
