Uncle Josh is Better than Disney World!

The kids were counting down the days for over a month before Uncle Josh finally arrived to visit us.  A sales rep for Zeal Optics, he was visiting Alaska for work and stayed with us for a couple of days.  By the time the countdown finally wound down to about two days, I made the comment to my mom that Uncle Josh had better show up with a pony in order to live up to all the hype of his arrival.

He didn’t show up with a pony but he was a novelty none-the-less.  I opened the door to him and he was greeted with three wide eyed, open mouth stares.  The kids were dressed in full regalia.  Super hero costumes complete with weapons and a princess, complete with weapons.  They leapt into high gear and before the door was even shut behind him, Uncle Josh was whisked away to the basement where they showed him his bed by jumping on it and then propositioned him for video games and Lego building.  Uncle Josh had a little bit of a wide-eyed stare of his own.

Taking pity, I called off the dogs and rescued Uncle Josh from the basement and fed him a snack.

The visit was short but sweet.  Uncle Josh had to work during the days but we managed to get some visiting in and we discussed ways to get each other involved in the other’s most recent business ventures.  We even managed to go out for a bad steak one night.  Looks like Uncle Josh will be visiting a couple of times a year.

April 2009 and March 2012
3 years of saggy draws.

The Joshies had some special Joshy time while the other kids were in school.

On the last day of his visit, we realized that I (the so-called photographer) hadn’t taken her camera out even once, so we visited the kids at their school lunch time to take some goodbye pics.
The above photo was taken by Little Josh.  He’s quite good.

The kids have already tried to start the countdown for Uncle Josh’s next - as yet unscheduled- visit.
