This week we spent some time at the park with our friends, the Hofackers. Lots of mosquitos, lots of dirt, lots of fun.

Guess Who's a BIG BOY???
Baby Joshy just moved up to a big boy bed! A tar residue, WD40 smelling, sad little hand me down of a firetruck toddler bed. He didn't seem to mind. At least he stayed in it. Well, I had to put him back once. But he hasn't gotten back out since. Two successful naps and once successful night have gone down in the books. Good boy, Doodimus.

Abigayl Marie Stamper
My brand new baby niece, Abigayl Marie Stamper was born on Friday, May 23rd. She was 7 pounds and 3 ounces. Her mommy and daddy are Darrin's sister, Raychel and her hubby Rusty.
Isn't she precious?
Mommy and baby are doing fine. Daddy's probably running out to buy a shotgun as we speak. Gotta keep those dirty little boys away!

Nice Weather Means Lots of Scrapes
The downfall to all this nice weather mean lots of run ins with the concrete. Joshy was in a wipeout last night when big brother dumped him out of his stroller at high speed. He busted open his lip in two places, and his sunglasses sliced his forhead. Everything turned out okay though, the cuts weren't stitch worthy.
Today Jake fell and scraped his knee. He wanted to make sure it was documented too. Jordy tried really hard to find an owie to take a picture of but she's too cautious and therefore, injury free at the moment.

No More Cubbies.
Tonight was Jake's AWANA recognition ceremony at church. He got to stand on the big stage and say his verses and sing a song with his group. He did a much better job of standing still this year. Afterwards, the little guys went back to their classroom for a party.
SOOOO cute.
Sayin' cheese like nobody's business.

Mother's Day in Review
Hope everyone had a fun and exciting Mother's Day. Mine was fantabulous. I ended up staying home from church with Josh because he was sick, but I got us both ready to meet the family for lunch at my favorite restaurant, Hacienda. Two chicken enchaladas with green sauce please!
After lunch we headed to Fred Meyer for their Founder's Day Sale and I stocked up on flowers for my front flower bed. We also got new pots and pans. Hurray!
When we got home we played outside all afternoon. Jordan even got to skip her nap for the third day in a row. We planted tons of flowers, played outside toys, met some prospective new neighbors and flew a kite.
The only downfall was a literal one. Joshy took a tumble in the driveway. His hands were too busy playing with his zipper, so he landed square on his forhead.

State Wrestling Tournament
I lied! I said it was on Saturday but I meant today. I get my days confused all the time because I never leave the house.
So today was the day. We started off on a bad note when Jake woke up at 5am and couldn't go back to sleep. Because wrestling tournaments go ALL DAY LONG, I knew he'd be wiped out by noon.
His first match was against a tough little guy that beats him every time. They've wrestled each other twice in the past. The first tournament, he pinned Jake in 11 seconds. That was Jake's first bout ever, back in March. The second time, he pinned Jake in 7 seconds and that was just a couple weeks ago. Needless to say, we weren't expecting much out of this first match today.
But Jake surprised us all by coming out of the gate like a tornado. He wrestled fast and furious, the best he'd done all season. Darrin and I were freaking out on the sidelines. Such a proud moment. Towards the end, the other kid threw Jake down pretty hard and Jake cried. He didn't want to finish the match but we convinced him to continue. He ended up losing in the end but he never got pinned. He fought so hard and we were all so proud of him.
Here are some pictures of Jake's first match were he fought so hard.
Check out his attack stance! (He's on the right)
Smiling because we cheering so loud!
It took hours for him to be called for his second match. I'm his mom so I can make excuses for him. He was exhausted and had already had an emotional day. So when he started wrestling for the second time and got his arm twisted, he couldn't recover. After several attempts to get him back out there, he ended up forfeiting the match. Because it was double elimination, he was out of the tournament. I was sad that his season had to end that way but I was glad to be calling it a day and heading home.

Last Bit Of Wrestling
Jakey is off to his state wrestling tournament! We were very nervous because he's been wrestling in the under 35 pound weight division all season, but when we went to the doctor's office several days ago, he was over 35 pounds. We thought for sure he'd be wrestling bigger kids at state. But he got his offical weigh in today and he was 34.7 pounds! Whew!
Think of him today (Saturday) and say a prayer that he has fun!

Aha.
Lately, Jake has been driving me crazy with allegations that he's afraid of his bedroom. In fact, every time I send him to his room, he cries and says he's scared to go in there. A likely story. He would freak out especially hard core when I would shut the door. And his case was made all the more suspect in the last couple of days because when I would send him to his room, he would turn off the light. Now who turns off the light when they are scared?
Well, tonight I decided to sit down have a talk with him about the whole situation instead of telling him to shut it and be a man. So I asked him what exactly was scary in his room, a room full of wonderous toys and all things to make a little boy happy.
So he led me into his room, shut the door and hid behind my legs. And this is what was on his door.
Holy cow! That's the scariest thing I've ever seen!
So Mommy fixed it.

Popping a Wheely
Today I took about 20 pictures of Jake trying to pop a wheely. The thing is, he really can do it! But I could not capture it on film. We just couldn't coordinate our efforts. Especially since my window of opportunity was the milisecond it took for him to life that tire up a hair's breadth off the ground. At least I managed to capture his grand effort.

It's National Scrapbook Day!
Happy National Scrapbook Day! Actually it's tomorrow but I doubt you care anyway. I'm getting ready for a fun 10 hour scrapbooking marathon at my local scrap store and just wanted to share a sweet picture before I go.
This is my Jordy Bug sleeping so sweetly last night. Usually she looks so incredibly uncomfortable that I couldn't resist taking a picture of her all cuddly and cozy. Such a doll face.
